Eric grew up in a small town in eastern Indiana and had a love for all things mechanical from early on. The family business was a farm equipment dealership and crop and livestock production. After attending Purdue University, Eric began a career as a mechanical engineer at Agco Manufacturing in Coldwater, Ohio designing folding corn planter frames. The desire to fly began after receiving a ride in a rented Cessna Skyhawk from a friend who was a crop duster. Later on while pursuing an engineering masters degree at Ohio State University in fall of 2000, Eric began flying lessons and was hooked immediately.
The career then took Eric to the Detroit metro area in 2001 to work for Ford on chassis engineering. Additional ratings were added as time and funds permitted up through CFI instrument and CFI multi engine in 2009. In late 2015, a transfer to the Ford Claycomo plant brought Eric to Kansas City and to flight instructing at ATD.
Besides flying, Eric's other hobbies include classic cars, rifle marksmanship, and home brewing. Eric is available at ATD evenings and weekends to help you achieve your flight training goals - private, commercial, instrument, CFI, and multi-engine.
